You are correct. The development of psoriatic lesions over a new tattoo site is known as the Koebner phenomenon. The image shows a psoriatic plaque over the extensor surface of the elbow and the Koebner phenomenon around the tattoo. Other types of skin trauma that provoke the Koebner phenomenon include: excoriation (scratching), sunburn, friction, pressure, lacerations, bites, and vaccinations. Around 25% of pts w/ psoriasis will experience Koebnerization. Other skin problems induced by tattoos include infection, allergic contact dermatitis, and photosensitizing reactions.
