Asymptomatic individuals who’ve had close contact w/ an infected person should receive 3 viral tests. Test immediately, but not <24h after exposure; if negative, test again 48h later; if negative, test again 48h after the 2nd negative test. This will typically be on days 1, 3, and 5, w/ day 0 being the day of exposure. Testing generally not recommended for asymptomatic individuals who’ve recovered in the past 30 days, but consider antigen test for those who’ve recovered 31-90 days prior. In a screening program, base testing decisions on the vaccination status of the person being screened. If using Ag (vs. NAAT), use 3 tests, spaced 48h apart, in line w/ FDA recommendations.   ◦ Performance of pre-procedure or preadmission testing is generally at the facility’s discretion, as is expanded screening of asymptomatic HCP w/o known exposure.
