indicated only for women w/ severe diarrhea-predominant IBS w/ inadequate response to conventional tx
GI Adverse Rxns
infrequent but serious adverse rxns reported, incl. ischemic colitis and serious constipation complications, resulting in hospitalization, blood transfusion, surgery, and death; immediately D/C tx if constipation or ischemic colitis sx; do not resume tx if ischemic colitis occurs; advise pts to immediately report constipation or ischemic colitis sx and contact prescriber if constipation does not resolve after D/C tx; pts w/ resolved constipation should resume tx only on advice of treating prescriber

Dosage forms: TAB: 0.5 mg, 1 mg
IBS, severe diarrhea-predominant
