AHA: Cardiovascular deaths in 2020 topped previous record

In AHA's annual Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics update, CVD deaths in the U.S. surged to 928,741 in 2020, making it the highest single-year occurrence of CVD-related deaths since 2003. Additionally, 19.05 million deaths were estimated for CVD worldwide in 2020, reflecting an 18.7% increase since 2010.
