Amazon Clinic expands nationwide to provide messaging and video visits for common health conditions

Amazon’s direct-to-consumer telehealth operation, Amazon Clinic, has expanded to all 50 states and Washington, D.C. the company announced August 1st. In addition to message-based consultations being available in 34 states, Amazon Clinic now supports video visits nationwide.
Amazon's expansion into the health care space follows that of other retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart and competes with the post-pandemic emergence of urgent care clinics across the nation.
Amazon Clinic launched last November and offers customers 24/7 access to third-party health-care providers directly on Amazon’s website and mobile app. With the service, Amazon customers can comparison shop and receive telehealth treatment for dozens of common conditions, such as pink eye, urinary tract infections, and hair loss. They can also choose among providers such as Curai, Hello Alpha, SteadyMD, and Wheel.
Amazon Clinic currently does not accept insurance, but the medication prescribed by clinicians may be covered by insurance.
