CDC updates flu vaccine recommendations for 2024-25 season

CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) updated recommendations for the 2024-25 influenza season. Annual vaccination is advised for everyone ages 6 months and older without contraindications. This season’s vaccines will be trivalent, excluding the influenza B/Yamagata component due to its absence since 2020. The vaccines will include strains of influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and influenza B (Victoria lineage). Specific recommendations are made for adults ages 65+ and solid organ transplant recipients.
