FDA bans sales of six popular Vuse menthol, fruit flavored e-cigarettes

FDA announced Thursday that it is banning the sale of six popular Reynolds American Vuse Alto menthol e-cigarettes, stating that the risk to children and teenagers outweighs any benefit to adult smokers. Vuse, made by R.J. Reynolds Vapor Co., is the most commonly sold e-cigarette brand in the country, and Vuse Alto the most popular sub-brand. FDA says its ban includes three menthol-flavored and three mixed berry-flavored products, each offered in three different nicotine strengths. The agency is still deciding whether to let the company's tobacco flavors stay on the market.
