FDA greenlights at-home hemoglobin test for patients with anemia

AnemoCheck Home (Sanguina, Inc.) is an at-home hemoglobin test kit that will be available by prescription only, for individuals with anemia due to nutritional deficiency (iron deficiency anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, and folate deficiency anemia), sickle cell disease, and thalassemia. The test allows patients to obtain accurate hemoglobin level readings from a finger stick blood sample that provides color-coded results corresponding to the hemoglobin level in two minutes.
