The use of an emollient on dry, flaky skin, as in the treatment of psoriasis, eczema and other dry skin.

FDA has issued a safety alert advising against the use of Skin-Cap aerosol spray products, marketed for various skin conditions, due to the presence of an undisclosed high potency glucocorticosteroid. Long-term use of such steroids can lead to adverse effects, including skin atrophy and systemic issues like increased glucose levels, blood pressure changes, and adrenal dysfunction. Patients should consult their healthcare providers before discontinuing use to avoid adverse reactions. No adverse events have been reported to date. FDA urges reporting any side effects to the MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.
