FDA warns consumers of contaminated copycat eye drops
February 2, 2024

FDA warns consumers not to buy or use South Moon, Rebright, or FivFivGo eye drops because of the potential risk of eye infection, including possible infection with antibiotic-resistant Burkholderia cepacia complex bacteria. Consumers may easily mistake these copycat eye drop products for Bausch + Lomb’s Lumify brand eye drops, an OTC product approved for redness relief. South Moon, Rebright, and FivFivGo eye drops are unapproved drugs and should not be sold in the U.S. They claim to treat eye conditions such as glaucoma, which are treated with prescription drugs or surgery.
